Privacy Statement

For various activities organized by Gebruiker Centraal, you provide personal information, for example, when you register for one of our events or when you order a book or game. We also track data regarding the use of the website: visitor data.

In this privacy statement, you can read about how we handle your information.

What we do with your personal information

  • We only request and use the personal data that we truly need. For example, your name and the name of your organization for a badge at an event, and your email address to inform you about the event’s program.
  • We do not share your personal data with third parties, unless we are legally obligated to or if it is necessary to organize activities. For example, when we co-organize events with another organization.
  • If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will only use your email address for sending newsletters and for no other purpose.

What do we do with website visitor data?

We use the web analysis service of the Dutch government (Piwik Pro) to analyze visitor data. This provides us with insights into the use of the website and gives us insights for website improvement. We do not link visitor data to you as an individual. Therefore, we know which pages are visited, but not who the visitors are.

What do we do with event registrations?

The information you provide when registering for an event is used to confirm your registration, communicate with you about the event (the program and logistical information), and to inform you about similar events afterward.

For event logistics, we sometimes use your name and the name of your organization for a badge.

Gebruiker Centraal is a community. The events we organize aim to encourage networking among community members. When registering, you can choose to have your name and organization listed (publicly) on our website as an attendee. This is optional.

What do we do with community registrations?

The information you provide when registering for a community is used to invite you to relevant events and to join our online collaboration platform on Pleio. This includes your email address and name. These will also be visible to other community members in the event invitations.

What we do with your data when you request something from us

The data you provide when requesting materials, such as a book or game, are used to send the materials to you and to keep track of who has received which materials. We may use your name and email address to keep you informed about new developments related to the book or game.

We delete address data within 6 months after the shipment.

What we do with images taken at our events

Sometimes, photos and videos are taken during our events. These are used for reporting on the event. A selection of the photos may be published on our website and social media.

Occasionally, we share the photos via our Flickr account in a folder accessible only to event participants. We include a “copyright notice”, stating that participants are not allowed to distribute the photos online. The photos are removed from Flickr after one year.

How can you view, modify, or delete your data?

You have the right to view, correct, or have your data deleted from our records.
If you receive emails or information that you no longer wish to receive, let us know by sending a message to info@gebruikercentraal.nl. Clearly specify which email or information it concerns.
